RAILWAY

Railway drone inspection in Spain for bridges, cuttings, track and stations

Rail structures are hard to inspect without possessions, road closures or rope teams. We fly visual inspections of viaducts, bridges, rock cuttings, embankments and station canopies along Spanish lines, coordinated with the infrastructure manager and completed inside the agreed access window.

FOR YOUR PROJECT

A service designed around the result.

Rail infrastructure managers, civil engineering consultancies, maintenance contractors and heritage railway operators responsible for structures, earthworks and vegetation along the track.

What it can include

  • Coordination with the infrastructure manager
  • Viaduct piers, decks and bearings
  • Cutting faces and embankment slopes
  • Vegetation encroachment overview
  • Imagery mapped to chainage

WHY DRONEX

What changes when the flight is planned properly.

01

Works within access windows

We plan the flight so capture is complete within the possession or line-side window granted, with batteries, take-off points and sequence fixed beforehand.

02

Structures from every side

Deck soffits, pier faces and bearings are photographed from angles that a track-level inspector cannot reach without a platform or ropes.

03

Geo-tagged for the asset register

Every image carries coordinates and is labelled by structure and chainage, so it drops straight into the manager's asset management system.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you request a quote.

Tell us about your project
Do you inspect railway structures while trains are running?

Only where the infrastructure manager permits flights outside the operational envelope of the line. Otherwise we work within a possession or a track-side access window they grant, keeping the aircraft clear of the running line and overhead equipment.

Who assesses the condition of the bridge or cutting?

The structures engineer or geotechnical specialist responsible for the asset. We supply comprehensive, geo-referenced imagery and video; the condition rating, defect classification and report are theirs to produce.

Can you cover a long stretch of line in one day?

Individual structures and cuttings, yes, several per day. Continuous corridor coverage over many kilometres is planned as a multi-day mapping programme with agreed chainage limits and access points.
