ENERGY & SOLAR

Drone inspection for solar farms and energy assets

Spain has some of Europe's largest utility-scale solar parks, across Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Aragón and Andalusia, plus thousands of rooftop installations on warehouses and farms. We fly structured visual passes over arrays, inverters and substations so maintenance teams can locate soiling, shading, broken glass or vegetation growth without walking every row.

FOR YOUR PROJECT

A service designed around the result.

Installers, O&M contractors, asset managers, engineers and energy companies operating solar parks, rooftop PV, substations or wind sites in Spain who need organised aerial imagery to plan maintenance.

What it can include

  • Utility-scale solar farms
  • Rooftop PV on warehouses
  • Substations and wind sites
  • Defined visual detail
  • Organised image delivery

WHY DRONEX

What changes when the flight is planned properly.

01

Row and string mapping

Images are captured in a planned grid and labelled by block, row and string as the site drawing names them, so a fault can be sent straight to a technician.

02

Thermal on request

Where the scope calls for it we add a radiometric thermal pass to the visual survey, capturing hotspot candidates for an engineer to interpret afterwards.

03

Vegetation and access checks

A plan view of the park shows fence lines, drainage, track condition and grass growth around the tables, useful for planning mowing and civil works.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you request a quote.

Tell us about your project
Do you diagnose faulty panels or just photograph them?

We capture and organise the imagery; diagnosing a cell defect, a diode fault or a string outage is the work of the O&M engineer or a qualified inspector. Our files are structured so that person can review quickly, and the scope states this division clearly.

How long does it take to survey a large solar park by drone?

A visual survey of a park of several tens of megawatts typically takes one to two days on site depending on layout, sun angle and whether a thermal pass is included. We plan flight lines from the site drawing beforehand so time on site is spent flying, not planning.

Can you fly rooftop solar on an occupied industrial building?

Yes, subject to the site's airspace and the building owner's access permission. We fly from the yard or an agreed open area, keep the aircraft above the roof rather than over staff and car parks, and deliver the images referenced to the panel layout.
