WIND ENERGY

Wind turbine drone inspection in Spain for blades, towers and nacelles

Spain has wind farms across Galicia, Castilla y León, Aragón, Navarre and Andalusia, many on remote ridgelines where blade inspections by rope are slow and weather-limited. We fly close visual inspections of each blade face, the tower and the nacelle with the turbine stopped, delivering a complete image set per machine.

FOR YOUR PROJECT

A service designed around the result.

Wind farm owners, O&M contractors, blade repair companies, independent engineers and insurers who need consistent condition imagery of turbines across Spanish sites.

What it can include

  • All blade faces, leading and trailing edges
  • Tower, nacelle and hub exterior
  • Images indexed by turbine and blade
  • Lightning receptor and tip detail
  • Repeat programme across the farm

WHY DRONEX

What changes when the flight is planned properly.

01

Systematic per blade

Each blade is photographed root to tip on the pressure side, suction side, leading edge and trailing edge, in the same order every time.

02

Fast across a wind farm

With the turbine stopped and pitched as agreed, one machine takes a short window, so a whole farm is covered in days rather than weeks.

03

Coordinated with operations

We work with the control room on stop and restart, follow the site safety plan and stay outside exclusion zones around live machines.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you request a quote.

Tell us about your project
Does the turbine have to be stopped for a drone inspection?

Yes. We coordinate with the site operator to stop the machine and pitch the blades so all faces are visible. Restart follows immediately after the last image, keeping lost production to a minimum.

Who identifies blade damage from the drone images?

The blade engineer or inspection specialist responsible for the asset. Our task is to deliver complete, sharp, well-indexed images; the classification of erosion, cracks or lightning damage is theirs.

Can you inspect turbines on remote or mountainous sites?

Yes. We travel to the wind farm and plan for altitude, wind and access tracks. Weather windows are watched closely, since the calm conditions needed for close inspection are limited on exposed ridges.
